Whis mentions how Jiren is essentially stronger than a God of Destruction, thus the rumor of a mortal who was stronger than a God turned out to be true. Jiren gives final push which was too much for Goku to handle. The Spirit Bomb implodes and Goku is caught in the explosion. Goku is nowhere to be seen in the aftermath leading everyone to think that he is vaporized.

The Grand Priest points out that since Goku died from his own attack it would be considered “Self-destruction” and Jiren would not be disqualified. Just as the Grand Priest is about to eliminate Goku, the arena starts to shake with the flow of tremendous Power. Beerus can feel that its Goku and definitely so Goku emerges from a Pillar of Light, glowing with a strange silver aura. Beerus notices that something is different about Goku, he is frighteningly calm.

Goku rushes towards Jiren, and to the surprise of everyone watching, he is able to land a solid blow. Not only that he dodges all of Jirens attacks and the once calm Jiren gets a little frantic. Universe 11’s Toppo and Dyspo try to attack Goku but are easily thrown aside. Goku and Jiren start Trading blows at insane speeds. As Goku fights he evolves and seems to get stronger.

Gohan and Vegeta who have fought along-side Goku numerous times can’t explain how he is doing it. His movements and attacks are completely different from the Goku they know. Whis is able to figure out what is going on as Beerus begrudgingly calls it “Ultra Instinct.” The Gods and Angels are surprised to see a mortal attain this form. Whis explains that the Spirit Bomb acted as a catalyst to spark the form.
