Dragon Ball Fighter Z

May 9th is a special day for Dragon Ball fans as it marks “Goku Day” on calendars. With fans celebrating around the world, Toonami decided to throw in a surprise for fans of the franchise by releasing a new DLC for Dragon Ball Fighter Z. The DLC adds Kid Goku from Dragon Ball GT into the already massive roster of the game. With so many versions of the series main protagonist already available, many fans have mixed feelings.

Surprisingly, however, Kid Goku is very powerful and a formidable foe. His unique abilities and special powers make him stand out from the ever-growing roster of Dragon Ball Fighter Z. Hit attacks and abilities are the same from the original Dragon Ball GT. Meaning players can use Kid Goku’s Pole and they have access to his Super Saiyan forms. His special allows him to perform a Kamehameha in his Super Saiyan form. A Super Saiyan 3 Kamehameha can also be triggered if at least one character has been knocked out.

Similarly, his level three moves include the iconic Dragon Fist seen in the original Dragon Ball and in Dragon Ball GT. If any of his allies have fallen than Goku will transform into Super Saiyan 4 to deal even more damage. One of the biggest draws of Dragon Ball GT was the Super Saiyan 4 transformation which has finally made it into Dragon Ball Fighter Z via Kid Goku.

This version of Goku allows players to use his Power pole in battle. This gives players a variety of ranged attacks and helps a lot in mobility. A more subtle addition from the series was the Reverse Kamehameha. Players can use this to propel Goku through the air and can even lead into a flying Headbutt similar to the one Goku used to defeat King Piccolo.
